The Promise of God's Calling, K.L.

I was born in Taiwan, in a Christian family. I came to meet with the local church in Franklin Park, New Jersey when I was a teenager. As a young kid growing up in a traditional Christian family, I was taught how to have a daily relationship with the Lord through prayer and to depend on this Almighty God. Yet, deep within me there was a prayer for something more real, a cry for the true satisfaction and the meaning of my human life. Today, as I glance back at all those years, I see that by His mercy, the Lord answered that prayer which I prayed to Him more than 15 years ago by bringing me to the local church. In the church, I am pursuing Him with a group of believers, and am being built up together with them as the Body of Christ. This is satisfying and fills my life with meaning.

Experience Christ as Life

Through the ministry of Witness Lee I came to realize that Christ as the Son of God in his divinity became a man not just to redeem us but to become our life. This is typified by the Passover Lamb in the Old Testament. The blood of the Lamb is for redemption, but the meat of the Lamb is for our life and move. It's truly wonderful to see that the infinite God, one who is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient, self-existing and ever-existing, became a finite man. “Being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death, and that the death of a cross.” (Phil. 2:8) I always wondered why God wanted to pass through such a process of incarnation, human living and crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. I only understood shallowly that he did all this to redeem me.

Hallelujah, the revelation in the Bible is much higher than this. Christ in His resurrection became the life-giving Spirit to dwell in me to be my life, life-supply and everything. Despite the fact that He is no longer present physically, I can contact Him through my human spirit. My spirit is like a receiver to receive the Holy Spirit just as a radio does a radio frequency. When I receive this “frequency”, I get all the riches of Him as the Spirit.

My Christian life is just to live Christ. This is not by my imitating Him outwardly, but by my living by Him inwardly. He is dwelling in me as the Spirit. When I contact Him within, I spontaneously live Him out. This is what Paul said in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me....” Praise the Lord for this ministry that helps me to live Christ!
